Anna Vetlugina has written "Blizzard" for us.
Anna Vetlugina is titular organist of Moscow Catholic Cathedral.
She received the degrees in Composition and in Organ at the Moscow Tchajkovskij Conservatory. She is winner of several international composition prizes and member of the Union of Composers of Russian Federation.
She has composed sacred and symphonic music, music for films and for theatre. Her writing organically combines various traditions of the Christian culture. Making use of styles of different historical periods, Anna Vetlugina creates a musical language characterised by bright and original melodies, singular figurative interpretations of texts and originality in the instrumentation. Her works have been performed in many occasions by soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre and by groups like the Aleksandr Vasil’evič Sveshnikov State Academic Russian Choir and the Nikolaj Petrovič Osipov State Russian Folk Orchestra.
Anna Vetlugina has given organ concerts in (Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Yakutsk, Novorossiysk, Naberezhnye Chelny, etc.) and abroad (Italy, Poland, Germany).
The organ duo formed by her and Dmitry Maksimenko has carried out exclusive musical projects, among which the accompainment of the Third Piano Concerto by Sergej Rachmaninov and paraphrases of Pink Floyd and Rammstein songs.
She is founder and artistic director of the Kantikum Ensemble.
